On the Tee

Tee boxes: area where the hole begins, rectangular in shape
Teeing Area: area between 2 markers designated to place the ball into when beginning the hole
Tee: Object made to raise your ball above the ground to play from the Teeing Area
Round: Typically, 18 or 9 holes played or to be played

In the Fairway

Fairway: area of short grass between the tee box and green
Rough: longer grass area surrounding the fairway and green, (generally a more difficult place to play from).
Out of Bounds: all areas outside the boundary of the golf course, typically defined by stakes, fences, and/or lines and generally painted white.

Putting Green: closely mowed area of grass at the end of the hole which contains the hole/flagstick.
Hole: a 4-1/4” circular hole designed to have the ball enter to finish the hole (contains a flagstick).
