Golf Terminology
Why We Golf
“For me, golf means a lot of things. It isn’t just about being more involved in golf. It’s about fellowship, togetherness and camaraderie. I do enjoy golf, but I have often been told I’m not allowed to go golfing with some of my guy friends because it’s ‘man-time.’ Although I do enjoy the sport, it is something that I felt I wasn’t able to participate in. So, for me, in Girls Got Drive it is really important that there’s inclusivity. That there is an open chance for everyone who want to play, can play.” – Meghan Detro, PGATSS Associate
“I was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, where golf runs through and through and where a certain tournament is played one week in April. I’m a PGA member, so teaching is mostly my background. Obviously, the dream was to play professionally, but that turned out to be a dream. So, I found other ways to turn golf into a career.” – Whitney Poss, PGATSS Associate
