Gary Player won his third and final Masters Tournament in 1978, more than fifteen years after his first victory in Augusta. He shot a final round of 64, setting a new record at the time for the lowest final round by a champion. Player finished the tournament with a score of 277, beating Tom Watson, Rod Funseth, and Hubert Green by one stroke. At the time, Player became the oldest individual (42) to win the Masters. Going into the final round, Player found himself tied for 10th place. His magnificent final round lifted him to his third Green Jacket, where he currently sits tied for fourth most Masters Championships. His final round of 64 currently sits second all-time for the lowest round at Augusta.
